Trauma Sensitivity and Restorative Practices
Description: This training introduces basic trauma theory and the embodied effects of traumagenic experiences while providing opportunities to connect with personal and collective resiliency practices. We will explore key principles fundamental to a trauma informed approach and engage Restorative Practices, as a trauma sensitive modality. Pausing for Creativity- Adult Doodling
Description: The ability to know when to step back in order to create something new is a highly valued quality in the workplace. It takes courage to slow down, pause, ideate, and risk a new way of being. In this session, we will examine the power of pause in order to develop space for innovation and creativity. Deepening Your Own Mindfulness Session
Description: Every activity that we do can be done mindfully, and when we do so, life is much richer. We will practice formally both sitting and engaging in a body scan. We will also explore informal practices of mindful walking, eating, communication and more. Integrating mindful awareness into our lives moment to moment when we can, is where we experience resilience and transformation. With stress at all-time highs, never has this work been more relevant. Therapeutic I.C.E.
Description: Therapeutic I.C.E. is an emotions management intervention that focuses on internal supports, and solutions to very challenging emotional situations. Educator Wellbeing Seminar
Description: The pandemic has impacted everyone, although in different ways. High stress for youth, families, and educators is common. In this interactive session, Ms. Jen will help educators reflect on how the events of 2020/2021 have impacted themselves and their teams. What do you Ride For?
Description: Current events to date are separating us now more than ever. As educators, it is important to be able to discuss challenging topics, share ideas, and advocate for injustices. We need to create a safe space for ourselves and our students to explore race, segregation, and shifting the narrative. Description: The Greater Good Science Center at UC Berkeley defined Six Pillars of Happiness. The first is mindfulness. Through our experience at Inner Explorer, we know that each of the other five pillars are fostered through practicing mindfulness. They include: Human Connection, Gratitude, Purpose, Positive Outlook and Generosity. In this interactive workshop, we will study each pillar and demonstrate how mindfulness promotes each of them. Adult SEL- Growth vs. Fixed Mindset
Description: In this session we will explore and discuss how to build a growth mindset in order to build resilience and grit over time. Participants will continue to develop healthy activities and accountability forums addressing -- Mindfulness, Body Awareness, Community and Connection and Digital and Social Media Consciousness in order to build new habits that promote learning, connection, a sense of community. Collective Trauma Seminar
Description: After a brief explanation of collective trauma, educators will explore current strengths and worries related to students in their community. Next, educators will discover how to prepare for a wide range of staff, family, and student needs in the fall using the four essentials of a trauma-sensitive school. Specifically, educators will explore how to implement trauma-sensitive community building lessons in their classrooms. Participants will also walk away with a new lesson plan they can use and/or modify with students of all ages. Finally, as educators begin working on their own trauma-sensitive plan for the new school year, there will be an opportunity to collaborate with colleagues and ask questions. Zoom Link: |
